The Air and Waste Management Association (A&WMA), in conjunction with Calgary Science Network (CSN) and the Calgary Region Airshed Zone (CRAZ), is organizing a student poster contest. Prizes will be awarded in three categorires for Calgary students from Grades 1 - 9. Posters relating to the 2010 conference theme: “Energy and the Environment” must be submitted by May 17 with a signed entry form.

Held at the Stampede Corral, the exhibition will have tonnes of hands-on, interactive exhibits designed to teach youth and the general public about earth science. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn what the Earth Sciences are, how they relate to their daily lives, and career options in Earth Sciences. is part of Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research's ongoing focus on science education and features free screenings of selected movies related to health or biomedical issues. A researcher who works in a related field introduces each film. Following the presentation, the researcher discusses new areas of research related to the science highlighted in the movie with time for audience questions and discussion.
